Steve has a rich history in construction and design. He started in the 1970's framing and trimming houses with his brothers. By the 1980's he recognized the need for more creative space planning and architectural design detail in the homes and structures he was building. He honed his drafting skills to assist architects, interior designers, builders, and homeowners by modifying floor plans and woodworking details, designing additions and homes. This led to the creation of MBA Design, a design studio and custom millwork shop. Assembling a group of the finest craftsmen, carpenters, and artisans to manufacture and install some of the most unique, specialized, and complex millwork available anywhere.

Ryan came to MBA Design in 2006 as a young carpenter. He studied under talented MBA craftsmen and quickly became a lead in project management and installation. During his tenure he increasingly developed his skills to include assisting with design. He broadened his expertise significantly in 2020 when he helped in the design and management of the conversion of the former Tangier’s to the new House Three Thirty in downtown Akron.

Aimee (Steve's daughter) was there at the beginning of MBA Design and learned the old-fashioned (pre-computer) method of bookkeeping and payroll. She then moved on to pursue schooling and other professional endeavors in the Caribbean and Montana before returning to MBA in 2006, bringing decades of life experience and a modern skill set to the position of Office Administrator.
